I assume that the Chief Justice has seen these proposals and has raised no objection. Cle arly the Attorney-General is largely responsible for the despatch (see the first paragraph of (3)).

To a very large extent my comments are contained in (2) on this file, and in general I entirely agree with the scheme which has been put up.

I am not to sure why in sub-paragraph (Y) The 9 Legal Officers are divided as if 4 are to work to the Solicitor-General, 1 to the Crown Solicitor, and 4 apparently direct to the Attorney-General. I suppose this is the intention.

Those duties in so far as they are specifically referred to in paragraph 2, are to go to the Registrar-General's department (see para. 11) with the exception of Estate Duty office work, and that it is proposed to transfer to the Inland Revenue Department (see para. 14).
